My name is Henrik Hansson and I work as a political adviser for Åsa Torstensson, the Minister for Communications.
Two major things have influenced me.
First of all, studying at Lund University. If one doesn't get influenced by studying, it would probably be a waste of time. I studied mostly Economics and Economic History.
The second thing that shaped my mind was my journey when I was 25 years old. I spent two years drifting around in Asia, between China in the north and Indonesia in the south, and I learned that being a westerner doesn't necessarily help one to understand the world. I became a much more humble servant after that experience. My travelouges in Swedish are available here and the photo gallery from my trip is available here. If you can only go to one country, my advice would be Indonesia. You'll never see a country with such nice people, scenery, things to see and do, and a fairly easy language. Please go, you won't regret it.
And since people have asked me I need to clarify two things:
1. How come you chose such a silly handle (globaljuggler) ?
I was planning a trip around the world when I realised I needed a web based email account, so I went to hotmail and tried some handles which all were taken. So I was thinking of what else I could pick and then I tried global – since I was about to travel globally, and then juggler since I love to juggle. Hence, globaljuggler. In the end I only went to Asia. The globaljuggler@hotmail account is since long time abandoned, except that I use it for MSN messenger. Send me an email to that address and it will vanish. However, the handle got stuck and I still use it. The good thing with such a handle is that I am pretty much alone in the world with it.
2. Are you really juggling at the Great Wall as the header image indicates?
Yes and no. I was juggling there. I brought my juggling balls to Asia and I have some photos where I juggle in some weird places. After some time, the balls were eaten by rats in Flores, Indonesia. Apparantly, which I found out very conveniently, the insides of the balls were seeds. But the photo is manipulated. I juggled with 4 balls, not 6.
